Well, on May 12th, the results of Municipal body polls has come out which reflects urban vote largely and this has spelt astounding victory for TDP after a really long time. The contest is being looked at closely as it is conveying a lot of things. The fact that TDP managed to win 9 out of 11 corporations and 69 out of 92 municipal councils clearly shows an urban voter tilt towards this party while YSRCP has casually brushed this off saying it was expecting urban voters to back TDP. If there is any support base, then it is believed that Jagan commands that in rural areas especially farmers who remember YSR’s help for them in times of need in 2004. The results of MPTC and ZPTC polls to be announced tomorrow will show the rural voting pattern. In case Jagan manages a lead here, then it will be a clear fight between Urban Babu and rural Jagan on May 16. But again given the fact that Seemandhra has equal urban and rural voters unlike Telangana and if Naidu’s farm loan waiver wins the heart of farmers, then it may be TDP all the way in general elections!
