Kothapalli Subba Rayudu who is well-known political leader in West Godavari district is facing CBI charges. State Bank of India (SBI) has approached CBI and made complaint against former minister. SBI Narsapuram Branch officials sanctioned loan of 5.73 crores to Subba Rayudu and his wife for 22 fish tank under KCC (Kisan Credit Card) for pisciculture.

SBI then Chief Manager and other three field officers were approved the loan to Kothapalli Subba Rayudu without proper checking of any documents. As per the news, SBI bank officials have just sanctioned the loan without taking any pledge and security from Subba Rayudu. Bank officials have no option to recover the amount from the YSRCP leader. Helpless SBI officials approached CBI for the recovery.

The whole episode was happened between 2011 and 2013. Kothapalli Subba Rayudu was considered one of the key persons among CBN coterie. He served as MLA and MP from Narsapuram when he was in TDP. Kothapalli Subba Rayudu was Power Minister in CBN cabinet. In 2009, he joined in PRP just before the elections and lost to Congress nominee in Narsapuram.

He again joins in YSRCP just before the elections in 2014. Both CBN and Jagan tried hard for Kothapalli. Kothapalli joined in YSRCP though his followers not interested. Relationship with Jakkampudi family forced Kothapalli joined in YSRCP. Kothapalli lost to TDP in 2014 elections. After knowing his popularity and status in West Godavari, TDP cadre and Kothapalli followers feel sad of his fate.
