The 75-year-old Raja Reddy was killed in a bomb attack in his native Kadapa district while he was returning to Pulivendula from his farm house in a car May 23, 1998. After 17 years even today there are people on social media / other online platforms trying to find answers for these questions: Is this murder because of faction? Is it true that, after the death of Raja Reddy, YS Rajashekhar reddy killed the murderer with a perfect planning and then convert to christianity?
Here are the answers by Nandyal SivaPrasad, Chartered Accountant and acquaintance of YSR brother, in his own words:
The fact that YSR killed the murderer of his father Late Raja Reddy with perfect planning and then later converted in to Christianity is totally absurd. Late Raja Reddy himself was a Christian even before I knew his sister Mrs. Peteres. So they were Christians to my knowledge prior to 1963 itself.
The family was not a well to do family. Mr. Raja Reddy was a contractor doing small railway contracts. They began to grow when they associated with a Brahmin teacher who had private patta land having Barites minerals and a mining license. They entered in to a joint venture and started exploring the mines and Mr. Raja Reddy and his elder son Mr. Gorge Reddy an engineer by qualification were looking after the mining.
Then YSR was doing his medicine and after completion he started a hospital in his native village and was doing yeomen service to surrounding village population. He became very famous.
It is Mr. Raja Reddy who dragged YSR in to politics as his elder son was reluctant to get in to politics. This is what I could remember due to my little acquaintance with YSR’s brother for with him about three decades back.

Christians prior to 1963 itself

I have never seen YSR going to church till he became CMof AP.
In fact as far as Mrs. Peters sister of Mr. Raja Reddy was considered they were not proper Christians. I hope it was Mr. Raja Reddy's father who got converted in to Christianity. But the family members were not marrying outside reddy converted Christian families. I have never seen YSR going to church till he became CM of AP. Probably political rewards made him more a Christian than a reddy under the influence of Madam Sonia.
