NTR and Jayalalitha are considered as successful combination in 60’s and 70’s in Telugu industry. Both of them acted in many successful movies like “Chikkadu Dorakadu”, “Devudu Chesina Manushulu”, “Alibaba 40 Dongalu” and “Kathanayakudu”. Later, both of them stepped into politics in their respective states. In all these movies, Hero (NTR) saved Heroine (Jayalalitha).

Even though NTR has not lived, but his GO (700/SCD/884) which was sanctioned in 1989 when he was Chief Minister of AP saved ADMK Chief J. Jayalalitha from the illegal assets case. That GO helped indirectly to Jayalalitha to free from the case. When he was CM of the state, ACB regularly conducted raids on Government employees and put the cases for having excess income other than their salary. NTR issued GO after taking consultations from his secretaries saying that government employee income should not considered as illegal if it includes less than 20% (including salaries and other allowances).

the GO, a government employee’s property considered as illegal only if he/she
earned more than 20%. Karnataka High Court Judge referred NTR’s GO and said
that Jaya assets are within 20%. High Court has believed that Jaya has just 8%
of assets that can’t consider as illegal. It’s just coincidental but NTR’s GO
is one of the reasons to bail out Jaya from the case.
