Chandrababu Naidu after
joining TDP became integral part of it and strengthened the party as TDP swept
to power only on NTR's charishma and on screen heroics and never had cadre
strength. Chandrababu strengthened the party right from grass root levels using
his organisational skills.
NTR from CM post
After being no 2 in the party for many decades, Chandrababu with Congress blood in his veins, did a coup to snatch power dislodging his father in law NTR from CM post in a midnight drama at Hotel Viceroy. From then on Chandrababu is accused of deceiving his father in law NTR and subsequently leading his death, as NTR died unable to withstand the shock.
Chandrababu from then on started insulting Nandamuri family
Chandrababu from then on started insulting Nandamuri family and turned the party into Nara family party promoting his son. He waged bitter war with YS.Rajasekhar Reddy and it turned out mostly into personal war rather than TDP vs Congress battle.
In order to crush YS.Rajasekhar Reddy, he joined hands with KCR's TRS, whom he kicked out when KCR asked for more popular ministry. KCR who learnt his lessons from Naidu, chose to be careful and made Chandrababu dance to his tunes. With TRS and TDP in power in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and Congress crushed completely and jagan lurking for power, political equations changed in both states.
