Looks like a big trouble is brewing for Amaravati ahead of the crucial Foundation stone laying event. In a week's time, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) had warned the state government twice not to take up any construction in the proposed area citing no environmental clearances for the mega project.

Complainant P.Sreemannarayana once again approached the tribunal today alleging that the works in Amaravati have not stopped. The tribunal had given second set of orders to Guntur Collector and CRDA to stop the works immediately. In case they do not stop, the petitioner is planning to knock the door of the courts.

This orders will also include ban on levelling of lands for the Foundation event. The petitioner is adamant to stop the Foundation event at any cost. We will have to see how the state government reacts on this fresh orders. We do not know what is happening behind but the state government already declared that necessary clearances were obtained.

Union minister for environment, Prakash Javadekar also confirmed that his ministry had issued all the permissions necessary for the construction of the state capital. Yet this issue of Green Tribunal is coming back to haunt the prestigious project. The Foundation stone will be laid by the Prime Minister himself on 22nd of this month.
