The most debated topic in recent times is about the special status to Andhra Pradesh. Most of them are consistently asking regarding the same for a long time and the central just provides muted response.
Now Rahul Gandhi has supported this and has requested Modi to announce special status to the state during his visit for Amaravati ceremony. He wrote a letter to Modi which reads as,
"As you are visiting Andhra Pradesh to lay the foundation stone for its new capital Amaravati, I request you to use this opportunity to grant special category status and fulfill the commitments made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act.
Last year I paid visit to Andhra Pradesh and I could see disappointment everywhere. Today the state is facing a huge revenue deficit and development initiatives are at a virtual standstill. And still the centre has never extended their support."
