Andhra Pradesh made history with the laying of the foundation stone for new state capital Amaravati on the occasion of Vijaya Dasami which also marked another significant development where in Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao joined the event.

KCR used a helicopter travelling from Suryapet in Nalgonda district to reach Uddandarayunipalem, where Andhra Pradesh ministers received him. A notable thing which happened at this event was the unusually public bonhomie between KCR and Kodela Siva Prasad, the current speaker of AP Assembly!

This was KCR's first visit to Andhra in more than a decade and sources say that both of them hugged each other and exchanged pleasantries. They also told everyone around them as to how close friends they were once. Kodela also asked KCR to give an appointment to him when he comes to Hyderabad. Incidentally, due to his key role once in TDP, KCR is considered very close to several senior party leaders!

KCR reportedly enquired with him about the latest toilet construction and other development activities in Sattenappali, which is Kodela’s home constituency in Guntur district. KCR reportedly praised him saying that even Delhi officials were praising Kodela’s efforts and he was really glad to hear about all this in Andhra!
