There are some rumors spread around the political circles that YS Jagan will use his last resort to counter Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu. Jagan seeks to put pressure on Chandra Babu by giving mass resignations with all YSRCP MLAs for getting special status to AP. There is lot of discussion going on among YSRCP leaders on mass resignations. Some of the Telugu dailies have published this as banner heading in their dailies.

YSRCP has 67 MLAs and 9 MPs in AP Assembly and considers as strong opposition to ruling TDP. YSRCP was dominated over TDP 5 districts in 2014 Assembly elections. Except in Anathapur, YSRCP won majority seats in three Rayalaseema districts. If this is true, Jagan took utmost political risk in his career. It is the question now, how many of these MLAs would agree Jagan’s proposal of mass resignations.

Most of them were newly elected MLAs from the party. It is doubtful that 66 MLAs would agree for this proposal. Some of the YSRCP MLAs were angry over Jagan’s attitude. They continued in YSRCP unwillingly after closing the doors in TDP. It would be difficult to Jagan to retain all these Assembly Segments. TDP would get benefit with Jagan’s decision if YSRCP MLAs goes for mass designations. Reportedly, some of the Senior Political leaders asked Jagan to rethink on this.
