If there was any major party which suffered like anything during AP bifurcation in the new state of Telangana, it is none other than Telugu Desam Party. TDP lost atleast 30-40 key leaders to TRS in the last seven years which also had an impact on cadre.
At the same time, there is still some hope because keeping aside Telangana sentiment, there is anti-incumbency factor coming into picture this time. So for the first time ever, TRS cannot play sentiment card that strongly for the upcoming Warangal by elections to Lok Sabha.
At the same time, TDP still has very good cadre in Warangal region which has become active of late. Hence there is an inner debate going on this time to see that BJP gives support for a TDP candidate here and an internal survey has also given more hope.
There are reports that TDP can perform very well here than Congress in attacking TRS and there are even chances that the party might win this seat, if not atleast settle for second place with only a narrow margin. Hence even Babu seems to be particular of contesting this seat with confidence!
