Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is getting himself into trouble regarding the Bauxite Mining issues. He is facing heat from all sides right now regarding this issue. Opposite parties are thrashing him. Tribals have already started their protests.
The Government has given an approval for bauxite mining in 1212 hectares of forest land in Vishakapatnam district. However we hear from some officials that the permission was provided with respect to certain conditions.
As per Government orders, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests has been accorded permission to divert 1212 hectares of forest land in Chintapalli and Jerrila of Narsipatnam Forest Division in Visakhapatnam for mining lease for bauxite in favour of Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation.
There are also certain conditions which includes that the status of the forest land shall stay unchanged. The government has stressed that afforestation is necessary. The Government also has confessed that the funds should never be mishandled. But still there have been lots of protests.
