Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to let go of loans taken by over 25000 weavers. The amount is more than 110 Crores. This decision was taken after lots of discussion and finally the announcement was made in the cabinet meet. Chandra Babu Naidu was the chair person in the cabinet meeting.
As per Information minister, Palle Raghunath Reddy, the loan waiver would benefit 25567 weavers of the state. The source said the cheques will be produced to the beneficiaries before January 2016. If not every one will receive the cheque on the special occasion of Janmabhoomi programme.
The state government also makes plans to provide Zero-interest loans to weavers to promote the handloom sector.
Some notable points are listed below,
• The cabinet has decided to provide 11.37 Lakhs new white ration cards to more than 28 lakh oor people
• New power connections will be provided to 4 Lakh houses.
• The cabinet also decided to constitute Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board and to bring Ports policy to develop major and minor ports and also industrial corridor near the ports.
