Madan Mitra is an Indian politician. He is also the present Minister of State for Sports and Transport in the Government of West Bengal. He is also an MLA from the Kamarhati constituency in the West Bengal state. He won the elections in 2011 period.
The politician was recently trapped in Saradha scam. Mitra was recently called an accused in the Saradha scam. Crores and crores of rupees chit fund scam has happened. A petition was kept by him in order to claim a bail.
Mr Mitra's counsel S.K.Kapur asked seven days time for surrender. But the court has rejected it. Mitra's lawyer argued that there is no evidence and he called the witnesses are also weak. It has to be noted that Mitra was arrested by CBI on December 12th 2014 for alleged complicity in the Saradha scam.
A bail was granted on October 31st. Mitra who was the transport minister submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee. Later it was forwarded to Governor K.N.Tripathi.
