The Heavy rainfall which striked the heart of Chennai has finally went away and clear skies are being found in Chennai. But still the water swamps and water logs are a big issue. Corporation of Chennai is also working in snail pace and people are finding it so hard to move out of their residences.

Now authorities in Kancheepuram has decided to release 5000 cusecs of surplus water from the Chembarambakkam reservoir which is already overflowing. Officials have already provided the caution to people living in those areas along Adayar river. The river would take the water to Bay of Bengal.

However areas in Chennai like Varadarajapuram, Pammal, Mudichur, Manapakkam and Kotturpuram are likely to get affected during this process. The lake was opened due to the heavy rain fall which paved way to heavy floods. Now as the rains were stopped the waters are being planned to recede.

As per reports 12,000 people were evacuated as waters have surrounded their homes. District Collector R Gajalakshmi said, "We wanted to discharge the inflow. We don't want to have any major set back."
