Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has requested the centre to provide some funds for Polavaram. If not he has asked the centre to complete the project within four years period.
The centre has to take the responsibility for completing Polavaram. Chandra Babu Naidu has asked a sum of Rs.2218 Crores from centre to complete the project on time. On looking at the track record of the Naidu administration, it is better that the Center take over the Polavaram project.
Chief Minister Naidu earlier asked for the operational control to be with him even if centre funds the project. He says if the operational control is with centre things will be messed up. All projects will be sanctioned to a particular section of society.
Political analysts say that the centre should take the Polavaram project without any more delay as that would be the best for people of Andhra Pradesh. Lots of allegations of corruption are made in Naidu's administration.
