Though the TRS party president K Chandrasekhar Rao is the highest level of power in his party there is a truth dawning on his party members. KCR is catching up with age and in between there was also a news that he was going through few health problems. This is restricting him in attending public meetings or give long speeches.  Even otherwise, the day is not far when the issue of finding the right successor for TRS party will come. And two men are the key contenders. They are K T Rama Rao and Harish Rao. Hierarchically, KTR is son of KCR so rightfully he might stand up for the post for obvious reasons but there is a practical observation. Harish Rao is with TRS from the birth of the party and he was very instrumental in building the cadre and giving strength to the party. In terms of contribution, Harish Rao deserves to be the next head for TRS but Indian politics survive more on family structures than services. Though Harish is KCR’s nephew it is not as equivalent as son. In between this, there is also the Kavitha factor.
