The torrential rainfall has completely shattered the life of Chennai people. The rains have stopped but the flood waters never decreased a bit. Most of the news channels are showcasing the flooded areas and they are providing live reports. However some media has made news which are creating a panic situation.

So the Information and Broadcasting Ministry has asked all private broadcasters to provide vital information alone on real time basis. Recently a fake news spread around that Crocodiles have escaped and the news was later denied.

Broadcasting Joint Secretary R.Jaya said said that many agencies, including All India Radio and Doordarshan, have been disseminating vital information related to weather warnings, helplines, contact numbers of personnel, and on the ground situation in the flood-affected areas.

The private TV channels are requested to provide such information alone. To assist the situation, any one who are trapped in floods are asked to contact media so that rescue operations can be done quickly. Hope all news channels understands the gravity of the situation and act responsible.
