Thoothukudi also known as 'Pearl City' is also one of the flood affected areas. But right now the flood waters have been drained and things are slowly turning back normal. But the affected areas have incurred more losses. The losses were not been repaid and the public are so upset.
DMDK Party Chief and Veteran Actor Vijayakanth today visited the flood prone areas and has consoled the public. He also provided them with bed spreads, groceries and other edibles. The actor personally visited the farmers who suffered due to loss of crops in this area.
The actor visited, Thiru V.Ka.Nagar, Mutthamal Colony and Muttiahpuram areas. He visited each area by walk and bare foot. He said, "The flood waters were still not drained in most of the areas. Government is not taking necessary steps to provide the rescue."
Sources said, the actor visited Madurai Airport by morning and from Madurai he reached Thoothukudi by road transport. He later moved to nearby surroundings like Tiruchendur and Kovilpatti to continue the relief measures.
