Sexworkers are always looked down lowly by almost all people and even the society. However the same sexworkers shocked all with their kind gesture. Sex workers from Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra survived on just one meal a day to collect Rs 1 lakh to help the Chennai flood victims.
More than 2000 of the 3000 sex workers from the district contributed to the TN CM relief fund. They handed a cheque to Anil Kawade, district collector at an event organised by NGO Snehalaya.
Girish Kulkarni, founder of Snehalaya said “These women were restless when they came to know of the deluge in Chennai. They decided that they should do something to help residents there... We are in touch with Delhi-based NGO Goonj for ensuring further relief to the people of Chennai,”
Sex workers with their gesture moved everyone to tears.Chennai which witnessed heaviest rain fall in 100 years turned the entire city into virtual island.
