Taking a very hard stand against Narendra Modi-led government at
Centre, the Telangana government has reportedly decided that it won’t be
anytime participating in the Republic Day tableau parade which is
scheduled in 2016, or even again thereafter.
The
decision comes with reports that the Ministry of Defence had indeed
rejected the three tableau models that showcases Telangana’s culture and
heritage that was presented before the ministry.
According
to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s floor leader in the Lok Sabha AP
Jitender Reddy, they felt that there is no point in pressing it when
they wanted to eliminate them and hence the state government has
reportedly decided not to be sending any tableau in the future.
Ironically,
this now becomes the second time when the youngest state is actually
facing such a troublesome attitude from the Centre. Telangana had
actually sent three designs involving Sammakka Sarakka Jatara, Perani
Shivathandavam, Nataraja’s dance form, and also Bathukamma, a famous
floral folk festival.
