The Andhra Pradesh government has reportedly ordered judicial probe which would be headed by a retired high court judge on  Wednesday, into the call money scandal which has shocked the entire state.

The decision was reportedly taken during a state cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu  due to growing demands from various quarters after the sensational disclosure by women victims that they have been sexually exploited after failing to repay the loans.

While the opposition YSR Congress is alleging that several leaders of the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) are also involved in the scandal, that came out in Vijayawada and Guntur, TDP is gearing up to give strong retort.

Under the call money arrangement, one could easily obtain loans by simply making a phone call to the lender, who arrives with money at home and takes the loan seeker's signature on the documents.

The interest rate is from 120 percent to 200 percent and later they have seized houses, vehicles and other movable as well as immovable properties of  borrowers. Then they start sexually exploit women in this scandal which is estimated to be more than Rs.600 crore in Vijayawada alone.
