As we are updating regarding GHMC elections, we said that the civil polls got all the attention it seeks. The elections are all set to happen on month of January. The Election Commission (EC) is making all amendments for a smooth election.
Now the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) authorities had indeed deleted names of around 6 lakh voters under the category 'Duplicate'. Regarding this, Election Commission counsel Avinash Desai told Justice C.V.Nagarjuna Reddy that all deletion will be done after GHMC elections to avoid some controversy.
But the Judge Reddy asked why was this issue not taken up earlier ? Reddy also said Election commission should not take some side and be biased. However on other hand petitioners said that the officials are rushing the process of deletion which is going to have a change even in City's population.
Ravi Sankar Jandhyala who spoke for petitioners said, "The authorities are preparing to delete 7.9 lakh voters under the name 'Duplicates'. EC Counsel was asked to say their part regarding the duplicate voters.
