The meeting between Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha seems to be a personal one regarding upcoming elections. However few sources say, Jayalalitha wanted Jaitley to meet at her Poes Garden residence to discuss regarding the flood calamity and havoc.
However Jaitley was keen to visit Jayalalitha only at the Secretariat. Political analysts say that earlier Jaitley faced controversy for meeting Jayalalitha at her residence. Things went out of hand and opposite parties lashed out at Jaitley. To avoid similar mishap, Jaitley personally visited her at the Secretariat.
Even though flood matters were widely discussed, another source says that there were talks regarding the alliance between AIADMK and BJP. It should be noted that, when a media person asked whether he discussed regarding the GST Bill,
Jaitley said, they never spoke anything other than Floods and relief measures. BJP is clearly keen to bank on the support of AIADMK MPs to get key bills passed in Parliament, On other hand Jayalalitha need BJP's support to escape from corruption case.
