Chennai Floods has completely taken away lots of things from us. But at the same time, it brought us the unity. Things are slowly turning back and Chennai is returning to normalcy. Most people lost their livelihood and are struggling to make a come back.


In this case, it was estimated that more than 3000 roads were badly battered due to the bad rainfall. Right now the corporation has started their repairing works. They have started the repairing works at Anna Nagar, Marina Beach, Rangarajapuram and Royapettah.


A source said that there was a meeting at Ripon building regarding the roads. Officials discussed whether these roads need patch work or completely a new one. A driver who operates bus from Ponneri said, "All the roads are terrible. We never had water logging. But still the major problem we face is commuting through all these potholes."


Another official said, We are doing the project at a cost of Rs.162 Crores. Former corporation engineers say the civic body must make sure contractors maintain a prescribed road level help water flow into drains.
