Chennai is slowly recovering after the recent deluge. The city is limping back to its normalcy. But still things are not the same as it was before. But as the floods were drained, the city turns back to its routine position.  The aftermath of floods is so worse than expected.

Centre has provided relief funds of Rs.2000 Crores to Tamil Nadu and the government still demands Rs.26000 Crores. We already provided complete information with respect to that.

Apart from this, Chennai Airports were shut down for a week and they chose nearby runways for domestic services. Now the authorities have made a complete check and they have said that the floods have caused a loss of Rs.66.56 Crores in terms of damage to the airport. Regarding this Airport Director Deepak Shastri said, "Due to unprecedented rain and inundation, the Chennai Airport was closed and flight operations suspended.

The assets damaged due to the floods have been assessed. The estimated damage to all those communication, navigation and surveillance facilities and other damages works out to Rs.31.06 Crores and in terms of business Airport has faced loss of Rs.35.50 Crores. This includes both traffic and non traffic revenues."
