TRS chief and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is well known forbeing a hardcore Telanganite and viscerally anti-Andhra. He had targeted television channels in the past which showed Telangana movement and himself in bad light.

Naturally KCR may have kept the Andhra media at bay for the ongoing Ayutha Chandi Yagam at his farmhouse at Erravelli village of Medak district. It was expected that the live telecast rights will be given for the T-News channel owned by his family.

However, KCR has sprang a surprise by offering Chandi Yagam live telecast rights to  Narendra Chowdary’s NTV, a hardcore Andhra businessman. NTV played a key role during the Seemandhra agitation against Telangana formation and also features anti-TRS stories even now.

Sources say that Chowdary did hectic lobbying to get this contract, stating how KCR can gain a lot of mileage through Bhakti Channel due to its tremendous viewership. That can also aid TRS chances in the GHMC elections!
