Chennai Floods have completely battered the normal life style of people. People lost all their livelihood and everyone were literally thrown on to streets. People are still facing the aftermath of floods. The rescue operations are also going on. In this case, most people lost all their important applications and documents.


Tamil Nadu Government has ordered to provide certificates and applications. And now we hear that the Government has received 45,661 applications for certificates and important documents that were lost or damaged in the recent floods in Chennai.


An official spokesperson said, the government has issued acknowledgements for 45,661 applications for lost documents, at special camps conducted at 10 taluk offices. This camp started on December 14th and it ended on 27th December. The Government said that they got 1336 applications on 27th December alone.


The list of departments which received applications for lost documents to be replaced include: Revenue department (25), school education (295), registration department (105), Transport (301), civil supplies (53), Chennai Corporation (270), census department (115), public sector banks (96), oil companies (65), welfare of differently abled persons department (8) and employment exchange (3).
