The upcoming Pongal festival is going to be a huge treat for people of Tamil Nadu. With election is slated for month of May, the ruling Government has announced Pongal bonus for all employees, teachers, pensioners and others.
The ruling Government so far has never provided any benefits to the employees and now with elections in mind, they think of it as a way to settle amendments. Lots of bonus has been announced. Group C and Group D government employees as well as teachers will get bonus up to Rs 3,000.
Similarly Group A and Group B employees as well as teachers who worked for 240+ working days will be receiving Rs.1000 a special salary. Similarly Pensioners and Family pensioners will receive Rs.500 as bonus.
Today regarding this Chief Minister Jayalalitha issued a press statement. The press statement reads as, "Totally, Rs 326.85 crore will be spent on distributing bonus for government employees and others." However there was no information with respect to flood relief bonus.
