North Eastern States were completely shocked by the disaster of earthquake which recently shocked the people. The earthquake hit Manipur today morning and the magnitude was estimated to be 6.7 hectare.
Now in a statement Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has assured all assistance to the north eastern states. The minister who was at Guwahati said, "The Prime Minister has asked me to coordinate with all the chief ministers of the north-eastern states. I had a conversation with all of them.
But I am unable to reach Manipur Chief Minister (Okram Ibobi Singh). The Manipur chief secretary told me the damage is more in the state. From centre, we will provide all required assistance to North eastern states.
I also spoke to Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi-ji and taken stock of the situation. There has been huge loss and the exact loss is not yet figured." Officials said that four lives were lost and more than fifty were injured due to this earthquake.
