More than eleven schools in Chennai were declared Holiday today as everyone of them received a bomb threat. Later police found out that this is a prank call. Police are trying to identify the call and they are trying to bring down the person who is involved behind this hoax.
Sources said that an unidentified person made prank call to schools and said Bombs will go off in the premises. Schools at Velacherry and Tharamani panicked and they called the parents to pick up their wards.
The police and the bomb detection and disposal squad searched the premises of the schools and declared it as a prank call. The bomb squad made a through check at all the schools and they confirmed that there was no such bomb.
Regarding this, a Police official said, "The call was just a hoax and still we treat it as a serious measure. We have arranged all security measures and we are using CCTV footages to find the person behind this hoax."
