Rescue and Relief works for Manipur took place at full swing. Yesterday morning 4:30am, an epicenter of the earthquake with magnitude of 6.7 shook Manipur. The impact completely battered the city and everyone in the city panicked. But after the quake, the normal life turned back soon.


Markets were opened as usual today. But still Offices and educational institutes were closed with respect to aftermath of the earthquake. So far seven people were dead and more than hundred were injured due to this quake.


Most of the buildings, which also include Manipur Secretariat developed cracks and some school and educational institutes structures were collapsed. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team from Guwahati is engaged in the rescue operation. The rescue operation took place at Tamenglong district and Imphal.


The team were still looking for some one trapped. In Market areas, some women vendors were sitting in open areas as they have fear that the structures may collapse and fall over them. National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) sources said the restoration work is happening in full throttle.
