The tryst between TRS and the Seemandhra settlers in Hyderabad is well known as they became sworn rivals of each other, but now there seems to be a mutual need which is helping to maintain peace in the city of Hyderabad.
Telangana’s IT Minister KT Rama Rao has more or less shouldered the entire responsibility of the ruling party campaign in the GHMC elections. While the party earlier coined the ‘Telangana Jaago, Andhrawale Bhaago’ slogan, it is now openly wooing Andhra voters who are considered decisive in the civic polls.
KTR himself has started personally appeasing Andhra voters asking them to keep the past behind. He admitted that they had used harsh language on Andhras in the past, but attributed this to Andhra leaders who were trying to suppress the Telangana movement!
He added that Andhra voters rejected them in 2014 and hence they only
secured 2 seats in GHMC limits. KTR stated that the situation is now
completely different as they ensured not even a fly harms them. He
appealed to the voters to introspect and vote for TRS in large numbers!
