High Court has issued Tamil Nadu Government six weeks to amend all flaws at Anna Centenary Library (ACL). The court has appointed a two-member committee. The court also ordered the department secretary to appear personally in court.

The first bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Pushpa Sathyanarayana passed orders based on the petition filed by retired school teacher S.T.Manonmani. The judges after hearing the case said, "As per the petition, the library has some aspects which needs attention. There is no improvement with respect to this issue."

The judges also asked to submit a report after six weeks after the repairs are done. The petitioner said that the Auditorium and Amphitheatre are completely under repair. Facilities are so poor and the income which is generated has been misused.

A report said, "The front office personnel told the commission members that the facilities were not provided for Public use. No reason, not even a worthwhile reason, was given to commission members despite repeated queries."
