Modi Government seems to be so lethargic in providing all the relief funds. By December first week, State of Tamil Nadu faced a severe deluge and the whole city of Chennai was flooded. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha immediately asked centre to provide financial assistance of Rs.26000 Crores.

But Modi sanctioned Rs.1000 Crores and left to abroad. But as the aftermath of floods was even worse, another team was sent to analyze the situation and they provided funds worth another 1000 Crores.

But when it was the turn of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Government to submit their pleas for drought assistance, the response was mum. Andhra Pradesh Government sought 2000 Crores and Telangana demanded for Rs.5514 Crores. But so far not even a single penny has been sanctioned.

Now after all those waters have drained and aftermath effects have been worse, the central Government has taken a decision. They have decided to provide relief funds of worth Rs.433.77 Crores for drought relief. But a decision for Telangana Government has been deferred.
