Supreme Court said the parliament has to consider a law for child rapists. The law should be cruel that the rapists must be punished with Chemical castration. The supreme court said, "It's the job of Parliament. How can court suggest punishment which is not in law?  But we can suggest it to Parliament."

The response came from Supreme court with respect to a petition by the Supreme Court women lawyers association. The petitioners in their statement said that Children from 2 to 10 years are being harassed and the statistics are high.

In order to stop such heinous crimes, the court must make tough punishments. Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi said that while child rape and abuse could not be tolerated, the court cannot suggest specific punishment like castration.

He also said only the legislature will decide the punishment. The court also suggested that Parliament must define child abuse and they must bring harsh punishment for those who convict of raping kids.
