Every one celebrates on Sankranthi with Kites and tasty food. From elders to young ones everyone in home fly kites on this day. In some places; competitions are held in this game. But the kites are flied using manja which helps in winning. The strength of the candidate depends on sharpness of manja. Recently; wire manjas are introduced into the marked on the name of China manjas. They are dangerous to birds’ animals and human beings also. So; Telangana government has taken action by banning China manjas in the market.

 

Ministry of Environment and Forest department have sent orders where Minister Jogu Ramanna has approved and passed it. According to the Environmental Act 1986; section 5; the production, selling, stock and usage of China manjas are banned. This amendment is also applicable to the other manjas prepared from silica powder. This is ordered by Environment Secretary Vikas Raj.

 

Environment commission has expressed grief as a result of China manjas; many birds have lost their lives and resulting in unbalance to the ecology. They have written letters to all the state governments mentioning its ill effects like causing injuries to two wheeler drivers; kids etc. and suggested to take action accordingly.
