Just like Tamil Nadu, even in Andhra Pradesh, court orders were defied and cock fights took place. Most of these fights happened in Coastal Andhra. Now a shocking news is more than 500 Crores was transacted in past two days due to this cock fights. A report said, more than 5000 Cocks have died in Godavari district alone.
But above all, the biggest problem was the fake currency which was used. Most of them who were betting on cock fights tried to peddle fake currency notes at the cash counters.
Recently this cock fight was banned, but as Tamil Nadu conducted Jallikattu despite ban, the same was done in Andhra Pradesh. The organizers were clever this year and this time they had UV lamps to detect the fake currency.
These fake note detecting machines were used in places like Bhimavaram and Vempa in West Godavari. Despite all those measures, it was said a huge chunk of money was labelled as 'Fake'. Police and media never made this issue a big one so far.
