The suicide of Rohith Vemula has created more troubles among public and students. There has been a huge public uproar against this issue. Even though the University revoked the suspension and asked the students to call of the protest, things get bigger. Now the only blame is thrown on Media.
Media has definitely snowballed this into a national issue. Student committing suicide is not a new thing to Hyderabad. Thousands of students have passed away by suicide in past. Those times, things were never blown out of proportion.
Now media has made the issue big by adding the prefix 'Dalit' intentionally. The media could have reported the suicide just as 'Suicide of a research scholar'. But they blow things out of proportion.
And as GHMC elections are on the way, the issue became Vote-bank politics. Media prefers TRP and Parties prefer votes. The media is clearly responsible for all the mayhem. They have made a mockery of 'Death of Research scholar'. Hope Media acts sensible at least in future.
