A complete lack of awareness has caused loss of 80,000 for a woman in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. She did two mistakes with her debut card and she lost the money. She was robbed by a thief in Chennai on Saturday. He took her debit card at Bus stand and he withdrew Rs.80,000 from her account.

Police said they have organized a hunt for the thief. Police said that Devi made it easy for anyone to withdraw money from her account by writing down her PIN number on the card. And adding to woes, she never contacted the bank and informed authorities that she had lost her cared.

If so her accounts would have been frozen and there will be no chance of transactions. This clearly shows that Banks doesn't teach the standard operating procedure for all clients. An investigating officer said that Devi was admitted in a private hospital last month and as she was discharged she decided to do some shopping.

She boarded bus at Parry's corner and the thief robbed her when the bus was passing through Arumbakkam. Devi immediately lodged a case at Washermanpet police. But Devi got SMS alerts that there was a withdrawal of Rs.80,000 !
