Chief Minister.J.Jayalalitha announced that students of SVS College of Naturopathy and Yoga Science will be shifted to Government Yoga and Naturopathy college. She said the students can continue their studies from there.
After meeting press, she said, "As in the case of Homeopathy students of the college, a nod from Central Council of Homeopathy (a statutory body under the Ministry of AYUSH) and Centre is required to shift the students. I have ordered for immediate sanction from the agencies to shift the students."
Priyanka, Saranya and Monisha earlier committed suicide stating that the management mistreated them and due to excess stress they are losing their lives. This incident provoked more protests. Chief minister also announced that she will provide a sum of Rs.1 Lakh from Chief Minister's Relief fund.
Police also have handed the case to CID as Principal Vasugi said this is not a suicide and it is a murder. However this issue was made political and Jayalalitha as usual threw the blame on previous DMK regime stating they granted permission for this college in 2008.
