BJP MP Hema Malini got all spot light as she was provided 2000 Square metres for just price of Rs.70,000. The 2000 Sq.m was allocated to Hema's Natyvihar Kala Kendra. But BJP Government defended the decision said that this is not the first time they have allotted the land for a cheaper rate.
They also recalled that cultural and academic bodies set up in memory of Congress leaders including Y B Chavan had benefited from such a gesture. MPCC President Ashok Chavan said,
"The Government earlier said it will formulate a fresh policy on granting government land which directly affects the state exchequer but in the case of the BJP MP, no such procedure was followed." Now in this case, Hema Malini met press people today. She said,
"I don't even know how much I have to pay. When I get the land in my hand, then I will give. The land is not yet given. I will definitely pay every single penny as per the rules of the Government. This will be the pride of the area. The institute is for the society for the children and it is not for own use."
