Delhi is facing major climate shift and the fog trouble continues to spoil the normal life. Transport has always been a major concern with thick fog spreading all over. Fog in Delhi stopped flights at Chennai Airport.
More than nine flights from Delhi and this includes Congress president Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Vadra's flight too. Everything were delayed by more than two hours since 9am. More than 20 departures were delayed by at least two hours.
The visibility was so dim and there is no other way for officials other than delaying the flights. Schedules were affected as visibility was pretty less than 150metres. Six flights to Delhi, two flights to Bengaluru, four to Kolkata, two to Kochi, two to Port Blair and flights to Coimbatore, Madurai, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam scheduled to depart between 6am and 2pm faced severe delays.
An official from Airport said, "Most of the passengers were stranded due to the rescheduling of flights. Most of the morning flights departed only by afternoon. A delay of more than three hours was inevitable."
