Finally GHMC polls ended after lots of drama. The 'Cash-For-Votes' took place in most places. But the voters were surprised to find that the NOTA button is missing from the Electronic Voting Machine this time.
This left most of the voters disappointed as most of them said they would not have voted if they knew in prior that there is no 'NOTA' button. This happened with most of them. Dr.Sameena Ali who has a cosmetic clinic at Banjara Hills said, "I was so surprised and disappointed when I couldn't find Nota button on EVM because it was mandated by Supreme Court in its landmark judgement in 2013."
The missing Nota has irked most of the people. Raghavan who is a senior software professional said, "The presiding officer was just as clueless as we are. She was unable to provide a convincing reply.
The right to have Nota on EVMs was hard-earned after a PIL was filed by PUCL in 2004 and Supreme Court delivered judgement in 2013."
