For any political party that is ruling, it is always important to keep the people politically engaged so that they would not be questioning the government’s failures any longer. Hence the best strategy is to simply hold elections in one part of region or the other.
This is required wherein people’s attention can be diverted and the ruling party can always keep giving excuses for its non-performance due to busy election schedule. This is what precisely the Telangana Rashtra Samithi is planning on doing now.
It has been nearly two years since the TRS came to power, but there have been back to back elections on a regular basis. It started with the MLC elections for under graduates’ constituencies followed by local bodies’ constituencies.
This was followed by-elections for Warangal Lok Sabha seat and then GHMC elections. Next week, it is the turn of by-elections to the Narayankhed Assembly seat. Now if KCR plans acceptance of resignations of one MLA for every six months, the heat will be on till 2019 elections!
