It is a known fact that what could be seen as a stunning victory, the ruling party Telangana Rashtra Samiti of Telangana secured victory in a historic 99 divisions during the recent GHMC elections.
One major issue which helped TRS was the fact that KTR came up with several promises to the city and it is these promises which have reportedly led TRS to a thumping and historic victory. Now the time has come to act on these assurances.
Telangana CM KCR also gifted his heir apparent recently with the additional charge of municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD). However sources say the road is far from being smooth for KTR as the government coffers are nearly empty.
TRS’ assurances will reportedly cost a whopping 1 lakh crore to the state’s exchequer. The state just only collected 22,918.8 crore by the end of January month, recording a 12 per cent deficit in sales tax collection. The government wanted to secure Rs 13,500 crore through sale of lands, it only earned Rs 500 crore.
