Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu is keen to move all the works to new capital by month of June. He also decided to make a Temporary Secretariat. But so far none of the works began with respect to the new building. None of the companies came forward to get the tender.

But now two firms have agreed to the final price offered by the Government. Construction majors L&T and Shapoorji Pallonji were said to have agreed to a price of Rs.3,350 per square feet offered by the Andhra Pradesh government for constructing the Interim Government Complex at Velagapudi village.

They also promised to complete all the construction by June 15th.  If the two firms keep their word and complete all the construction work on time, all major offices of Andhra Pradesh government will be shifted to the Amaravati region from Hyderabad.

Hyderabad acts as common capital of Telagana and Andhra Pradesh right now. As Andhra needs a new capital city, they are building Amaravati city. The temporary Secretariat will come up in a 45-acre area at Velagapudi village and it will have 3 blocks.
