Human hair worth Rs.10 lakhs was stolen from premises of Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple near Visakhapatnam. As per police reports some unidentified persons have stolen 10 bags of 'Special grade' Human hair at price of Rs.10 lakhs from the temple at Simhachalam.


G.Ram Gopal who is the inspector said, "Preliminary probe suggests that temple insiders may be involved. Every day thousands of devotees visit the shrine and we can't doubt everyone of them. Everyone visits from various parts of Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring Odisha and Chhattisgarh.


Most of the devotees tonsure their head and offer the hair to deity. The staff of tonsuring centre will collect the hair and segregates them with respect to length and quality. Then they are auctioned."


Now in such a way the special grade human hairs were stored in a secret room and they were stolen. Executive officer of the temple K.Ramachandra Mohan said, "The rooms were locked and the bags were kept secured. The thieves entered the store room of the temple, from the terrace using a rope."
