India is the world’s largest democracy and there is a lot of pride that comes with it but a closer look reveals the reality. The way our political system and leaders are manipulating and arm twisting the whole essence brings shame and embarrassment to the people.

For instance, BJP has been stamped strongly as a ‘Hindutva’ party but what exactly is Hindutva and how does one perceive it? The opposition party Congress feels the NDA government crushing the students movement in JNU is ‘Hindutva’ influenced and are demanding an end to it.

Anyone with minimum sensibility would vouch that an individual or a group chanting slogans against India and praising a terrorist like Afzal Guru must be taken to task without a second thought. How can that be propagated as a ‘Hindutva’ initiative.

So, this is what is the understanding of ‘Hindutva’ for the Congress and its well read leaders. For the record, the hanging of Afzal Guru took place during the UPA regime led by Congress so only they should know why they made that decision. The situation now is about national integrity and students getting misled. Cashing in on that for political gains is an extremely cheap and shameful thing to do.
