A Wrong Kidney report has cost Rs.10.25 Lakhs for a wrong report. The state consumer fined the centre. The centre failed to identify a lesion in the patient's left kidney in an Ultrasonography test. P.Dhanaram from Virugambaakam said he was advised to take master health check up as he had various ailments.
Dhanaram underwent check up at Primex scans and Labs in T.Nagar. Consultant radiologist Dr.Gayatri performed an UltraSonography test on lower abdomen. As per the tests, there was no evidence of lesions in the kidneys. But when he consulted his family doctor he confirmed that there should be a lesion.
Once again he underwent another fresh scan at another diagnostic centre. Results revealed a large lesion on his left kidney and if is left untreated it would have cost his life. The lesion was also cancerous.
Doctors immediately treated and removed his left kidney. He filed a complaint on the diagnostic centre which provided an erroneous report. He demanded that the wrong report caused mental stress and he demanded compensation.
