Earlier we reported that Umar Daraz (22) who is a Virat Kohli look alike is facing imprisonment for 10 years. He was facing imprisonment as he hoisted Indian flag on top of his house at Okara district in Punjab. District court judge Anique Anwar announced his verdict.
Daraz's lawyer Mr.Aamir Bhatti said, "We were disappointed and we will challenge the decision in the session's court." Umar Daraz is a tailor by profession and he was arrested on January 25th at his vilalge. Police filed a First Information Report (FIR) against him under section 123-A of Pakistan Penal Code and 16 Maintenance of Public Order.
Neighbours of Daraz said that he committed the mistake without knowing the consequences. During Football matches people used to hoist Brazil and Argentina flags.
This should be seen from sports perspective and not political perspective. Daraz said that he is a big fan of Kohli and he supported Indian team because of Kohli. He also said he is just a fan of Indian Cricket team and not a spy. Regarding hoisting Indian flag he said that is due to the love for Virat Kohli.
